Job summary

Highland Electric Fleets seeks a Project Development Associate I in Beverly, MA (hybrid) to advance fully developed projects for contract execution. You will work with Legal, Finance, and Market Development to ensure underwriting readiness and coordinate with external engineers for site design handoffs to Customer Success and Project Execution teams.

Initially reporting to the Manager, Project Development, the role offers growth toward autonomy, involvement in timelines, budgets, and permitting

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or 4+ years of related professional experience.
• Experience with electric utilities and interconnection.
• Experience in electrical engineering, construction, or infrastructure project development.
• Project management experience in engineering and/or construction environments.

Responsibilities

• Support Senior Associates and Managers in establishing fleet electrification scopes of work for projects in development, including timelines, budgets, and equipment selection.
• Work with engineering teams to develop designs for EV charging depot projects, including solar and battery storage components.
• Contribute to estimating engineering, construction, and interconnection costs for budgets.
• Coordinate the project site diligence process, including real estate, zoning, permitting considerations.
• Help define project permitting requirements and support related engineering deliverables.
• Assist in identifying utility requirements, filing service requests, and communicating with utility representatives.
• Assist in managing projects through design and engineering phases, tracking schedules and subcontractor deliverables.
• Support handoff to project implementation team after contract execution.
