Jobot is seeking a Junior Estimator to join our multifamily development and in-house construction team in Chicago. The role offers exposure to both development and construction, with a compensation range of $80,000 to $110,000 per year and a path for growth.

You will assist in preparing estimates, perform takeoffs, support bid processes, and analyze costs across the project lifecycle. This is a hands-on role in a collaborative, fast-paced environment with opportunities for professional

Qualifications

• 1–5 years of experience in estimating, construction, or project engineering.
• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field.
• Strong interest in multifamily or residential development.
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
• Detail-oriented with strong analytical and organizational skills.
• Proficiency in Excel; exposure to estimating software is a plus.
• Team player with strong communication skills and a proactive mindset.

Responsibilities

• Assist in preparing conceptual and detailed project estimates for multifamily developments.
• Perform quantity takeoffs and pricing using plans, specs, and early design documents.
• Support bid solicitation and leveling with subcontractors and suppliers.
• Analyze project costs, budgets, and value engineering opportunities.
• Collaborate with development, preconstruction, and operations teams.
• Help maintain historical cost data and estimating databases.
• Participate in project handoff meetings to operations teams.
