B&S Site Development LLC in Manassas, VA is seeking a Junior Estimator to join our growing preconstruction team. This early‑career role supports estimating by reviewing project documents, performing quantity takeoffs, and assisting with bid processes for earthwork, utilities, grading, and site development.

Ideal candidates have 1–5 years of civil construction experience, a Bachelor's in Civil Engineering or related field, and strong Excel skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
• 1–5 years of estimating, field engineering, project engineering, construction management, or related heavy civil construction experience.
• Strong understanding of construction drawings, specifications, and contract documents.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
• Strong mathematical, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Review plans, specifications, geotechnical reports, and project bid documents.
• Perform quantity takeoffs for earthwork, utilities, grading, paving, and site development scopes.
• Assist in preparing detailed cost estimates, budgets, and bid proposals.
• Utilize estimating software and spreadsheets to develop pricing models and track costs.
• Support senior estimators in subcontractor and vendor solicitation efforts.
• Analyze labor, equipment, material, and subcontractor costs.
• Coordinate with project managers, field operations, and business development teams during the bidding process.
• Assist in identifying project risks, opportunities, and value engineering solutions.
