Job summary

Roux is seeking an entry-level field technician to support environmental investigation and remediation projects in Oakland, CA. You will assist the project team and Project Manager with field sampling, data collection, and reporting tasks.

Responsibilities include calibrating equipment, collecting soil, groundwater, and vapor/indoor air samples, and overseeing subcontractors in the field. A bachelor’s degree in a technical field is required, with 0–2 years of experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required in a relevant technical field.
• Typically 0–2 years of experience.
• Ability to safely perform routine field activities, including sampling techniques for environmental media and supervising subcontractors.
• Demonstrates strong work ethic, positive attitude and enthusiasm for the work.
• Entry-level data evaluation and analytical skills.

Responsibilities

• Calibrate sampling/monitoring equipment and perform soil, groundwater, vapor/indoor air sampling, and remediation monitoring.
• Assist the project team in preparing and reviewing data tables, soil boring logs, and figures for technical reports.
• Oversee subcontractors and ensure field safety and procedural compliance.
