Falcata's Product Solutions organization in Huntsville, AL is seeking an Embedded Software Engineer to join our engineering team. The role focuses on embedded Linux, real-time software, and hardware-software integration for RF sensor products.

The successful candidate will design, develop, test, and document embedded software under the guidance of experienced engineers, with opportunities to grow in a multidisciplinary team.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field.
• 0–2 years of professional software development experience; internships or co-op may be considered.
• Coursework or project experience with C or C++.
• Fundamental understanding of data structures, algorithms, debugging, and version control.
• Ability to read and understand technical documentation and interface specifications.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary engineering team.
• U.S. citizenship and ability to obtain DoD security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Support design, development, integration, verification and testing of embedded Linux software systems.
• Implement software components under guidance of senior engineers and leads.
• Develop and maintain C/C++ software for embedded platforms.
• Assist with software interfaces for hardware devices, sensors, networking components, and communication protocols.
• Develop Python- and Bash-based scripts to support testing, automation, data processing, and workflows.
• Participate in software integration, system bring-up, debugging and troubleshooting.
