Job summary

Carollo Engineers, Inc. in Boise, Idaho seeks an entry-level Electrical Engineer to assist with power engineering tasks for water and wastewater facilities, including conduit layouts, wiring, and panel schedules.

The role offers hands-on design under supervision, opportunities to learn NEC standards, CADD drafting, and professional certification support; travel to project sites is possible.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering.
• 0-4 years experience.
• Course work in power engineering.
• Engineer-in-Training Certification or FE license; or ability to obtain within 6 months.
• Basic and advanced course work in A.C. machinery, electrical measurements, symmetrical components, and control system logic design.
• Basic understanding of the National Electrical Code (NEC).
• Ability to read One-Line Diagrams and Control Schematics.
• Working knowledge of symmetrical components, fault current calculations, and machine theory.
• Proficient in documenting and presenting technical information clearly.

Responsibilities

• Performs basic power engineering tasks and calculations for water and wastewater facilities under supervision.
• Receptacle designs, including panel schedule load and phase balancing.
• Lighting designs, including luminaire layout and circuit switching.
• Conduit layout and fill calculations.
• Wire sizing.
• Performs basic CADD drafting.
• Submittal review and specification research.
• Develops and improves technical knowledge and skills.
• Travel and site visits as required.
