Job summary

Placements24 in Upington is seeking a Junior Electrical Engineer to join the Control Systems team. This entry-level role offers hands-on experience in designing, implementing, and maintaining industrial control systems, with guidance from senior engineers.

You will work with PLCs, HMIs, and automation hardware, learn best practices, and contribute to FAT/SAT support and documentation while growing your career in a collaborative environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a relevant field.
• Foundational knowledge of control systems, PLCs, and industrial automation concepts.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings and schematics.
• Familiarity with basic electrical installation and wiring practices.
• Strong problem-solving aptitude and a willingness to learn new technologies.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist in design and development of electrical schematics for control panels and automation systems.
• Support programming and troubleshooting of PLCs and HMIs under supervision.
• Conduct wiring and assembly of control panels according to design specifications.
• Perform FAT and SAT support.
• Collaborate with mechanical engineers and project teams to integrate control solutions.
• Learn and apply industry best practices in electrical design and automation.
• Maintain documentation for control system projects.
