Job summary

Actalent in Taylor, MI is seeking an Entry-Level CAD Drafter – Electrical Substations to produce and update drawings for substation projects, following client standards and document control procedures while supporting engineers and project managers.

You’ll gain exposure to AutoCAD, Revit, and MicroStation in a hybrid office setting, collaborate with project teams, attend meetings, and pursue growth within a rapidly expanding utility energy division across the Midwest.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• 0 to 3 years of related CAD drafting or design experience.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to concentrate and maintain attention to detail.
• Collaborative team mindset and initiative to learn quickly.
• Desire to grow professionally within a growing utility energy division.

Responsibilities

• Perform entry-level CAD drafting for electrical substation projects using client-specific standards.
• Create new drawings and update existing drawings as project requirements change.
• Follow established CAD standards to ensure consistency and compliance.
• Maintain accurate, detailed work across drawings and documentation.
• Work on multiple projects, managing priorities and deadlines.
• Collaborate with project managers and engineers to understand requirements.
• Attend project meetings to determine CAD scope and technical requirements.
• Participate in site visits to gather field information as needed.
• Attend seminars and training to enhance CAD, design, and industry knowledge.
• Maintain a safe working environment and follow safety guidelines.
• Adhere to document control processes for organization and retrieval of files.
