Job summary

OluKai is seeking a creative, fast-moving Junior Editor, Content & Performance to join our in-house creative team in Irvine. You will edit high-performing video content across paid media, organic social, UGC, and digital platforms, turning raw footage into engaging short-form content for today's digital audience.

The role reports to the Content Studio Manager and requires strong skills in Davinci Resolve, After Effects, Premiere Pro, and a passion for the OluKai brand and ocean lifestyle.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field.
• 2–4 years of professional video editing experience within an in-house creative team, agency, production company, freelance environment, or similar setting.
• Strong proficiency in Davinci Resolve.
• Working knowledge of After Effects, Adobe Premiere Pro, Figma, and the Adobe Creative Suite.
• Strong understanding of short-form video storytelling, pacing, hooks, composition, music, and sound design.
• Experience editing content for Meta, Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, and other digital platforms.
• Understanding of how paid social creative differs from traditional brand content, including hooks, messaging, pacing, testing, and iteration.
• Experience working with UGC or creator-style content is strongly preferred.
• Ability to take creative direction and translate feedback into polished work quickly.
• Strong organizational skills around project files, footage, asset management, and post-production workflows.
• Comfortable managing multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.
• Collaborative, proactive, curious, and eager to continue developing as an editor and creative.
• Actively seeks out AI-enabled tools and emerging technologies, adapting quickly to leverage them for productivity and insights.

Responsibilities

• Edit performance-focused video content for Meta and other paid digital platforms, including product ads, UGC-style creative, campaign cutdowns, and short-form advertising.
• Create multiple hooks, cutdowns, messaging variations, aspect ratios, and iterations of paid creative to support ongoing performance testing.
• Partner with the Creative Leads to translate direction and performance insights into new video executions.
• Turn OluKai's YouTube content into compelling short-form organic content for Instagram Reels, TikTok, YouTube Shorts, etc.
• Identify strong moments, hooks, stories, and soundbites within longer-form content for social use.
• Edit existing campaign and production footage into additional social, paid, product, and digital assets.
• Work with UGC/creator footage to keep content native to social while aligned with brand.
• Apply editing fundamentals: pacing, shot selection, music, sound design, color, typography, captions, and basic motion graphics.
• Resize and adapt creative across platforms, placements, and aspect ratios.
• Organize and maintain a growing library of video assets across drives.
• Maintain clean project structures for team access.
• Manage multiple edits and meet fast-moving timelines.
• Stay current on social formats, editing styles, and performance creative.
• Collaborate with Creative, Social, Growth, Brand, and Marketing teams as needed.
