Job summary

Newberry Group seeks a Jr. Security Control Assessor to support its Government Client. This role requires 85% travel to DoD locations both domestically and internationally, with a hybrid on-site/remote arrangement.

You will conduct cybersecurity assessments, manage vulnerability findings in eMASS, and validate RMF controls while coordinating with the SCA Team Lead. A DoD TS-equivalent clearance and IAT II certification are required or obtainable within 90 days.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in security/IT or related field.
• 0-1 year of experience; willing to train on technologies and RMF.
• Active DoD Top Secret clearance with SCI eligibility preferred but can start with a secret.
• IAT Level II certification active or to be obtained within 90 days of hire.
• Familiarity with STIGs, SRGs, POA&Ms, RMF, and related tools (eMASS, STIG Viewer, Nessus, ACAS, SCAP, HBSS).
• Strong written and verbal communication skills for reporting results.

Responsibilities

• Conduct cybersecurity assessments, audits, and inspections for DoD orgs handling DoD information.
• Evaluate systems and DCO using threat emulation and testing.
• Coordinate logistics and test plans with the SCA Team Lead.
• Perform vulnerability assessments and document findings in eMASS.
• Provide risk analysis and authorization recommendations; participate in reviews.
