Job summary

Liberty Software in Southlake, TX is hiring a Junior DevOps Engineer to build, automate, and support the systems that keep our software running smoothly. You’ll collaborate with IT Infra, InfoSec, Software Development, and QA to enable secure development, testing, and release.

You’ll create automated pipelines for code integration, testing, and deployment, document processes, and develop automation using PowerShell, Bash, or Python.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, MIS, or related field preferred.
• CompTIA Server+, Security+, MCSA, or similar certification preferred.
• 1–3 years of hands-on experience with Windows Server 2012R2-2022.
• 1–2 years of working experience in a Software Development Operations capacity.
• 1–2 years of hands-on administration and management of source code control and production platforms (GitLab, Team Foundation Services, etc.).
• Knowledge of deployment/configuration management tools such as Jenkins or Puppet.
• Excellent verbal and written communication, interpersonal, conflict resolution and customer service skills.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with IT Infrastructure, InfoSec, Software Development, and QA teams to enable secure development, testing, and release of software products.
• Build and maintain automated pipelines for code integration, testing, and deployment.
• Define, document, and enforce adherence to DevOps policies and procedures.
• Implement logging, metrics, tracing, and alerting using monitoring tools.
• Review, verify, and validate hosted systems software releases for DevOps and InfoSec compliance.
• Document information flow of all hosted systems.
• Develop automation for deployments, configuration, and operational tasks using PowerShell, Bash, or Python.
• Analyze and recommend steps to protect source code per configuration standards.
• Analyze, document, and implement the software release process for all hosted systems.
• Troubleshoot hosted systems post-production and document incidents per corporate processes.
• Monitor post-production hosted systems to ensure KPI-based performance.
• Work with InfoSec to deploy security controls and ensure compliance.
• Produce periodic reporting on software projects and post-production performance.
