Job summary

SURVICE Engineering is seeking a Junior DevOps Engineer to support the Gulf Coast Operation and accelerate your career within the defense community. You will engage in software life cycle activities, collaborate with customers, and contribute to secure, scalable solutions.

The role emphasizes containerization, cloud skills, and experience with monitoring tools, under an agile framework with DoD-related contexts.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science/Computer Engineering or related discipline; 2+ years of relevant experience.
• Linux fundamentals and scripting are required.
• Cloud computing skills with AWS, Google Cloud, and Azure knowledge.
• Knowledge of Node.js and languages such as Java, JavaScript, Ruby, Shell, Bash, PHP.
• Experience with monitoring tools like Nagios and Splunk; familiarity with security practices.

Responsibilities

• Critically analyzing and integrating software requirements into applications.
• Writing efficient code using standard practices.
• Work independently and in a team environment as required.

• Salary: $100,000 - $130,000 Depending on Experience and Education
• Travel: 5%

Minimum Qualifications of Junior DevOps Engineer

Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science/Computer Engineering or related discipline and 2+ years of relevant experience. Exceptional candidates with less experience will be considered. Candidates are not required to possess all qualifications; if you possess some of the desired qualifications, please apply.

• Linux Fundamentals and Scripting
• Cloud computing skills, such as database management and network management. They must also have an understanding of Amazon Web Services (AWS), Google Cloud Platform (GPC) and Microsoft Azure
• Knowledgeable of Node.js and programming languages like Java, Javascript, Ruby, Shell, Bash and PHP
• Knowledgeable in code analysis, change management, threat investigation, security training and vulnerability assessment
• Knowledgeable in how to use monitoring tools like Nagios and Splunk, and they should also have the capacity to recognize bottlenecks in the production system, pave security patches and upgrade system versions
• Proficient in Containerization, Continuous Integration, and Version Management
