Job description
Overview

GovCIO is currently hiring for JuniorDeveloper to work as part of a team (junior to mid considered) developing cloud-based tools supporting intake, validation, metadata processing, and submission for a federal digitalization platform.

This position will be located in the DMV and will be a fully remote position with infrequent opportunity to travel.

Responsibilities
  • Designs and codes applications following specifications using the appropriate tools.
  • Maintains and modifies existing software applications.
  • Analyzes detailed systems factors, including input and output requirements, information flow, hardware and software requirements, and alternative methods of problem resolution.
  • Performs modifications to and maintenance of operational programs and procedures.
  • Participates in code reviews to represent reviewed work for adherence to standards and specifications.
  • Writes or revises program documentation, operations documentation and user guides in accordance with standards.
  • Operates systems within FedRAMP High-certified cloud environments, meeting continuous compliance standards.
Qualifications
Required Skills and Experience
  • Bachelor's with 2-5 years (or commensurate experience).
  • 2+ years of hands-on software engineering experience.
  • Proven experience delivering secure applications.
  • Some front- and back-end understanding and experience.
  • Strong team mentality.
Preferred Skills and Experience
  • Some experience with the following would be beneficial:
  • NodeJS ESM, TypeScript, Java with Spring Framework or Spring Boot
  • Some understanding of object reference via JavaScript and Node event-emitter experience
  • React (v17+), Next.js, Vue.js, Rollup.js
  • Some understanding of React component architecture
  • Jest, Puppeteer or Playwright
  • Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or any other CI/CD pipeline/workflow technology
  • PostgreSQL, Hibernate or H2, Drizzle ORM
  • Understand data modeling at the schema creation level
  • Kafka, RabbitMQ, ActiveMQ, or other Message Queue
  • RESTful APIs and the HTTP protocol

Clearance Required: Ability to obtain and maintain a Suitability/Public Trust clearance with credit check

Posted Pay Range

The posted pay range, if referenced, reflects the range expected for this position at the commencement of employment, however, base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, education, experience, and internal equity. The total compensation package for this position may also include other compensation elements, to be discussed during the hiring process. If hired, employee will be in an “at-will position” and the GovCIO reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, GovCIO or individual department/team performance, and market factors.

USD $90,000.00 - USD $100,000.00 /Yr.
