Job summary

Golden Touch seeks a Junior Designer to join our fast-paced design team in New York. You will craft trend-forward juniors’ ready-to-wear pieces, with a focus on knit and woven dresses, sets, and bottoms, producing rapid sketches and precise technical packs.

With 4+ years in apparel design, you’ll collaborate with the Design Director and overseas vendors, ensure production timelines, and stay ahead of fashion trends. Hybrid schedule: 4 days in-office, Friday remote.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Fashion Design, Apparel Design, or related field.
• 4+ years of full-time professional apparel design experience in juniors/woven/knit.
• Strong garment construction and manufacturing knowledge.
• Excellent organizational and time-management skills with meticulous attention to detail.
• Excellent communication for collaboration with teams, factories, and vendors.
• Curiosity for staying ahead of fashion trends and proactive problem-solving.
• Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator; PLM experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Design trend-right junior’s ready-to-wear apparel, producing fast and accurate sketches using Adobe Illustrator.
• Develop designs across knit and woven categories, emphasizing dresses, sets, and bottoms.
• Manage daily design responsibilities and timelines to meet deadlines.
• Conduct trend, market, and competitive research; present brand-right concepts.
• Create and maintain detailed technical packs in PLM communicating design intent.
• Collaborate with Design Director to communicate with overseas vendors and address feedback.
• Coordinate with Graphic Design on print, pattern, and graphic direction.
• Review and resolve sample issues while maintaining cost targets and timelines.
• Maintain documentation and project tracking in a fast-paced environment.
• Stay current on market trends through trend shopping and competitive analysis.
