Job description

Henning Larsen's New York office is seeking a new designer to join our team. This designer (Project Team I) will contribute to the design and delivery of complex architectural projects across multiple phases. The Project Team I role is intended for designers and architects with 1+ years of professional experience who demonstrate strong design thinking and growing technical proficiency. This role will work semi-independently on assigned tasks under the direction of a Project Lead and Project Architect.

Your key tasks and responsibilities will be:

  • Develop design studies, diagrams, renderings, and space plans to support project vision and design intent.
  • Create and maintain 3D models, drawings, and project documentation throughout all design phases in alignment with office standards.
  • Support conceptual development, presentations, competitions, and client-facing materials.
  • Prepare architectural drawings, incorporate redlines, and assist with construction documentation and consultant coordination.
  • Collaborate with project teams, manage workload effectively, and deliver organized, high-quality project outcomes.

Qualifications

  • Approximately 1+ years of post-graduate professional experience in architectural practice and Bachelors or Masters of Architecture from a NAAB accredited school
  • Strong design sensibility supported by solid graphic, modeling, and documentation skills.
  • Inquisitive and creative designers who are open to learning new information while also sharing knowledge with less experienced staff
  • Proficiency in Rhino, Adobe CS, and other digital design workflows. Revit experience is encouraged but not required.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating with project leadership and multidisciplinary international teams, supported by strong organizational, communication, and coordination skills.
  • Authorized to work in the US and available for an ASAP start date

Salary Transparency Statement

At Henning Larsen, we are committed to fair and transparent compensation practices that support our people and our purpose of creating sustainable societies. The anticipated base salary range for this position is $65,000 - $80,000 per year. This range reflects the compensation we reasonably expect to offer at the time of posting. Actual compensation will vary based on factors such as location, skills, experience, education, and internal equity. Because we operate across multiple U.S. markets, pay may differ depending on the cost of labor in specific locations. In addition to base salary, this position may be eligible for bonus, overtime or other forms of compensation and we offer a comprehensive benefits package that supports well-being, professional development, and work-life balance.
