Job summary

VSC Fire & Security in Richmond, VA is seeking candidates for the Designer Apprentice role. You will learn and perform design tasks under the supervision of experienced Designers, ensuring safety and quality on every site.

This is a full-time, on-site apprenticeship with excellent pay and comprehensive benefits and training opportunities. Zero to one year of CAD experience is preferred; NICET certification and further drafting education are encouraged.

Qualifications

• Zero to one year of experience with AutoCAD or SprinkCAD or background in mathematics.
• Basic knowledge of architectural drawings, site surveys, water data, fire suppression systems, codes and site needs.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions and pass background checks.

Responsibilities

• Apprentice learns and practices all the steps, duties, and responsibilities of a Designer under supervision.
• Maintain proper risk management and safety procedures on all job sites.
