Job summary

VSC Fire & Security in Roanoke, Virginia is seeking a Sprinkler Designer I to design, coordinate, and submit fire protection drawings and related calculations. The role requires 1–3 years of experience with AutoCAD or SprinkCAD and a solid math background. NICET I/II certification is preferred. A drafting degree is a plus.

Qualifications

• One to three years of experience with AutoCAD or SprinkCAD or background in mathematics.
• NICET Level I or II certification required or preferred.
• Experience reviewing drawings and performing site surveys.
• Ability to pass background checks and maintain safety policies.

Responsibilities

• Design, coordinate, and submit fire protection drawings and hydraulic/seismic calculations.
• Ensure compliance with NFPA standards and insurance requirements.
• Provide updates to purchasing when schedules or changes occur.
• Produce shop lists for fabrication of system piping.
• Coordinate with other trades to avoid conflicts and ensure safety.
