All Native Group, a division of Ho Chunk Incorporated, seeks a Junior Data Scientist to support a Federal Agency enterprise data management and analytics program. You will help develop ML models, prepare data, and apply NLP to unstructured datasets in a mission-driven environment.

Ideal candidates have 2+ years with Python/R/SQL, familiarity with ML concepts, and experience handling structured and unstructured data.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in data science or related quantitative field with NLP or machine learning coursework.
• 2+ years of experience with Python, R, or SQL in an analytical or statistical context.
• Experience working with structured and unstructured data.
• Familiarity with data visualization tools.
• Ability to work collaboratively in an Agile development environment.

Job description

All Native Group, a division of Ho Chunk Incorporated, is seeking a Junior Data Scientist to support a Federal Agency enterprise data management and analytics program. This role supports the Analytic team in developing machine learning models, preparing and analyzing data, and applying natural language processing to unstructured datasets. It is an excellent opportunity for an emerging data scientist to grow within a high-impact federal mission environment. This is for proposed work, and any offer of employment would be contingent upon award.

Essential Functions

• Develop, train, and evaluate custom machine learning and AI models, including both supervised and unsupervised approaches.
• Apply natural language processing (NLP) techniques to extract, enrich, and analyze unstructured data.
• Improve and expand existing entity extraction processes, incorporating new entities and models to improve analytic outcomes.
• Evaluate enterprise data holdings and develop models and techniques that enrich data toward mission advantage.
• Manipulate, cleanse, and prepare structured and unstructured data for model development and analysis.
• Build data visualizations that communicate analytic findings to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Collaborate within an Agile delivery team, participating in sprint planning, reviews, and continuous delivery.

Competencies

• 2+ years of experience with an analytical or statistical language such as Python, R, or SQL.
• Exposure to machine learning concepts, including model training and evaluation.
• Experience working with structured and unstructured data.
• Familiarity with data visualization tools.
• Ability to work collaboratively in an Agile development environment.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work: This is a full-time position with flexible hours based on mission requirements.

Travel: No travel is expected for this position.

Experience

Education: Bachelor’s degree in data science or a related quantitative field with coursework or project experience in natural language processing or machine learning. Experience can be considered in lieu of education.
