Job summary

Strategic Staffing Solutions is seeking a Junior Data Engineer / Software Engineer in Charlotte, NC. The role targets 0-2 years of experience and focuses on building data pipelines, applications, and cloud-based solutions using Python, SQL, Java, and AWS.

You will develop and support pipelines, work with relational databases, and implement ETL/ELT processes, REST APIs, and GraphQL integrations in an enterprise environment. Strong collaboration and code quality practices are expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Data Engineering, Information Systems or related field; equivalent practical experience may be considered.
• 0-2 years of relevant data engineering, software engineering, application development, or database development experience.
• Working knowledge of Python, SQL, and Java.
• Foundational knowledge of AWS.
• Understanding of relational databases and ETL/ELT/data pipeline concepts.
• Familiarity with REST APIs and GraphQL.
• Familiarity with Git and GitHub.
• Understanding of software development practices including testing, debugging, documentation, and code reviews.

Responsibilities

• Develop and support data pipelines, applications, and integration solutions.
• Write and troubleshoot Python, SQL, and Java code.
• Work with relational databases, including tables, joins, keys, indexes, views, and data models.
• Support ETL/ELT data integration workflows.
• Develop and integrate REST APIs and web services.
• Work with GraphQL schemas, queries, mutations, and API integrations.
• Assist with cloud-based development using AWS.
• Perform testing, debugging, documentation, and code reviews.
• Use Git/GitHub for source control and collaborative development.
• Partner with technical teams to troubleshoot issues and deliver reliable solutions.
