Job summary

SMX is seeking a Data Science Consultant to support our Army Client. The role focuses on designing solutions with Databricks and Palantir Foundry, building data models and reports from ERP and legacy systems, and translating business needs into technical specs. You will verify tests and collaborate with stakeholders to ensure delivery meets requirements.

Active Secret Clearance is required. Salary range is $85,000–$125,000 USD with competitive benefits and opportunities for professional growth

Qualifications

• 2+ years hands on development experience.
• Proficiency in SQL, Python and Pyspark.
• Experience in data engineering, data science and analytics.
• Familiarity with Databricks.
• Familiarity with database design and architecture; relational and non-relational databases.
• Ability to work cross-functionally, and participate in discussions.
• Knowledge of cloud architecture: AWS or Azure.
• Competence with software engineering tools and processes (estimation, issue tracking, version control, debugging).
• Proven ability to work independently on assigned tasks without supervision.
• Proven experience in knowledge sharing (code reviews, solid documentation).
• Driven, self-directed personality.
• Active Secret Clearance.

Required Skills & Experience

• Experience working in data engineering, data science and data analytics. Note that this is not a Cloud Full Stack developer role.
• Familiarity with Databricks
• Familiarity with database design and architecture; relational and non-relational databases

• Knowledge of cloud architecture: commercial cloud vendors (AWS/Azure)
• Competence with software engineering tools and processes (estimation, issue tracking, version control, debugging, etc.)

• Exceptional communication skills and the ability to foster positive outcomes from diverse interests of people and teams
• Experience working with the DoD
• Experience working with GFEBS or other SAP ERP system
