Job summary

SMX seeks a Data Science Consultant to support our Army Client. You will design solutions using Databricks and Palantir Foundry to deliver capabilities that meet business requirements, and build data models and reports from ERP and legacy systems.

You will coordinate with stakeholders to convert business needs into technical specifications, define test cases, and ensure solutions function as designed. A Secret clearance is required.

Qualifications

• 2+ years hands on development experience.
• Proficiency in SQL, Python and Pyspark.
• Experiences in data engineering, data science and data analytics.
• Familiarity with Databricks.
• Familiarity with database design and architecture; relational and non-relational databases.
• Ability to work cross-functionally.
• Knowledge of cloud architecture: AWS/Azure.
• Experience with software engineering tools (estimation, tracking, version control, debugging).
• Proven ability to work independently without supervision.
• Proven knowledge sharing (code reviews, documentation).
• Driven, self-directed personality.
• Strong sense of mission and commitment to making a difference.
• Active Secret Clearance.

Job description

We are seeking a Data Science Consultant to support our Army Client.

• Design new solutions using Databricks (SQL, Python, Pyspark) and Palantir Foundry to deliver capabilities meeting business functional requirements.
• Design modifications to existing data model solutions as needed.
• Define test cases and verify test results to ensure solutions are functioning as designed.
• Build data models and reports using datasets from ERPs and legacy systems.
• Coordinate with stakeholders and users to determine reporting requirements and convert business requirements into technical specifications.

Required Skills & Experience

• 2+ years hands on development experience
• Proficiency in SQL, Python and Pyspark.
• Experience working in data engineering, data science and data analytics. Note that this is not a Cloud Full Stack developer role.
• Familiarity with Databricks
• Familiarity with database design and architecture; relational and non-relational databases
• Ability to work cross-functionally, and participate in discussions
• Knowledge of cloud architecture: commercial cloud vendors (AWS/Azure)
• Competence with software engineering tools and processes (estimation, issue tracking, version control, debugging, etc.)
• Proven ability to work independently on assigned tasks without any supervision.
• Proven experience in knowledge sharing (i.e., code reviews, solid documentation)
• Driven, self-directed personality
• Strong sense of mission and commitment to making a difference

The proposed salary for this position is:

$85,000—$125,000 USD
