Job description

For over a decade, PEX has been on a steady march to build and evolve solutions that help small and medium-sized organizations manage payments-related activities more efficiently, nimbly, and competitively. PEX has evolved into a robust, secure SaaS solution with a deep suite of workforce spend management capabilities, advanced card controls, real‑time visibility into card usage, and improved reconciliation processes. More importantly, we are providing a better, more effective solution for thousands of organizations and hundreds of thousands of people in the workforce. We work each day to find new ways we can help our community of customers operate more efficiently.

WHO YOU ARE

You are a highly visible, cross‑functional Credit Analyst who sits at the critical intersection of Risk, Sales, and Customer Success. You don’t just process applications; you own the independent financial analysis for credit requests and debt restructuring strategies. You are a risk‑conscious thinker who ensures that every deal is within policy while finding opportunities to improve strategies across the PEX organization. You thrive in complex fintech environments where accurately identifying underlying risks and providing feedback for underwriting treatment is the baseline for success. You are as comfortable hosting deal review meetings as you are performing complex financial analysis to establish credit line assignments.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
Financial Underwriting & Risk Analysis
  • Perform complex financial analysis to ensure deals originated are within policy limits and establish credit line assignments for manually reviewed applications.
  • Accurately and consistently identify underlying risks and provide feedback to the Head of Credit for recommended underwriting treatment.
  • Recognize trends and formulate appropriate responses regarding the feasibility of credit requests.
  • Provide loan approval recommendations to the appropriate lending authority.
Strategy, Governance & Deal Management
  • Ensure all deals are within credit policy, note any policy exceptions, and work with the credit team to ensure proper guardrails are in place.
  • Host deal reviews and post‑mortems as deemed necessary to ensure high‑quality decision‑making.
  • Review bad debt loans and provide feedback for enhanced underwriting and account management strategies.
  • Adhere to established service level agreements (SLAs) to maintain operational velocity.
Lifecycle & Relationship Management
  • Work closely with Sales and CSMs (Customer Service Managers) to establish and maintain strong customer relationships.
  • Provide approvals and set credit limits for accounts required to re‑verify financials.
  • Assist with developing and enhancing credit risk assessment capabilities to maintain healthy relationships with clients by balancing risk/reward.
  • Influence decision‑making to find opportunities to improve strategies across the PEX organization.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Experience: 2+ years in Fintech or Financial Services.
  • Education: Bachelor's degree or higher in Business, Finance, or another quantitative field.
  • Technical Skills: Strong knowledge of financial accounting with the ability to spread and analyze financial statements and tax returns from both businesses and individuals.
  • Problem Solving: Effectively uses analytical skills to solve technical, as well as non‑technical, problems with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Compliance: Prior knowledge of regulations within the financial services industry.
  • Collaboration: A proven team player with the ability to host meetings and bridge the gap between credit policy and front‑line sales needs.
BENEFITS
  • Your Health: Full‑spectrum medical, dental, and vision coverage.
  • Your Time: Unlimited PTO so you never have to choose between work and life.
  • Your Space: 100% remote work flexibility.
  • Your Future: Competitive 401(k) matching program.
  • Your Network: A generous referral program to help us grow together.
