Job summary

Paarl Law Firm is seeking a motivated Junior Corporate Associate to join their corporate and commercial department in Paarl. You will assist senior lawyers in advising on corporate structuring, governance, and M&A matters, drafting contracts and due diligence materials, and developing expertise in corporate law.

The role targets newly qualified or junior lawyers with a strong academic record and a proactive approach, offering mentorship, a hybrid work model, and opportunities for client exposure

Qualifications

• Admitted Attorney of the High Court of South Africa.
• Newly admitted or up to 3 years post-admission experience in corporate or commercial law.
• Strong academic record and a genuine interest in corporate transactional work.
• Excellent research, analytical, and drafting skills.
• High level of professionalism, attention to detail, and ability to work collaboratively.

Responsibilities

• Assist senior associates and partners in advising clients on corporate structuring, governance, and compliance matters.
• Support the team in drafting and reviewing transaction documents, including sale agreements, shareholder agreements, and incorporation documents.
• Conduct legal research and prepare memoranda on various corporate and commercial law issues.
• Participate in due diligence investigations for mergers, acquisitions, and other corporate transactions.
• Liaise with clients, regulatory bodies, and other parties as required.
• Assist in the management of corporate filings and regulatory compliance requirements.
