Job summary

MRE Consulting in Houston, TX is seeking a Jr. Consultant - Analyst to design and deliver innovative solutions for clients, ranging from business process development to software design and implementation. Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in a business or IT-related discipline.
• 0-3 years as analyst or similar in commodity trading, MSP, or junior developer.
• Strong communication with project leaders, analysts, and users to capture requirements.
• Driven, proactive, accountable, enthusiastic.
• Legally authorized to work in the United States without visa sponsorship.
• Experience with Agile and CTRM systems is a plus.

As a Jr. Consultant - Analyst, you will work with senior team members to design and develop innovative solutions for our clients. Roles may vary from custom business process development to design and implementation of specialized software solutions.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor’s Degree or higher in a business or IT-related discipline
• 0-3 Years of experience as a technical or functional analyst or similar role within a commodity trading environment, junior developer, Salesforce administration, or a Managed Services Provider
• Strong interpersonal skills to communicate with project leaders, business analysts, and users to understand business requirements and issues
• Strong drive, initiative, accountability, and enthusiasm
• Strong team player and entrepreneurial spirit
• Legally authorized to work in the United States

PREFERRED CHARACTERISTICS

• Peripheral or hands-on knowledge of the commodity trading industry, such as U.S. power or gas market implementation processes, or deal integration from exchanges like ICE and CME
• Involvement with Salesforce, Salesforce Trailhead, or related internships
• Basic understanding of CRM principles like Data Management
• Exposure to IT service management frameworks (e.g., ITIL)

WHAT TO EXPECT AS A NEW HIRE

Expect to start your career as an "analyst", aka junior consultant, in the Project Delivery Services practice (PDS). This is our traditional consulting practice, where you will gain experience in different technologies and industries, while developing your business and technical skills. In addition, you can expect a nimble organization - we run a lean firm and we adapt to changing external circumstances. While projects can change, we encourage our people to be as engaged within the firm as they want and do more than just project work, i.e., internal networking groups, recruiting, and more!

WORK ENVIRONMENT

This role follows a hybrid model, with onsite presence determined by specific project and client needs. Junior consultants should be prepared to travel to more than one client site as required, since project demands and client obligations can shift quickly. Work is primarily performed with Houston-based clients, but may also extend to clients in other areas of the U.S., with the possibility of international travel when needed.
