Job summary

Merit Manufacturing in Warren, Michigan is seeking a Junior Compounder who will learn to weigh ingredients, mix batches, and document production records. You’ll work alongside seasoned compounders to develop hands-on skills in a fast-growing cosmetics and personal-care contract manufacturing environment.

You don’t need prior experience—just reliability, basic math skills, and curiosity. The role emphasizes safety, accuracy, and teamwork as you help transform raw materials into finished products

Responsibilities

  • Gather, verify, weigh, and stage ingredients according to approved formulas.
  • Assist with mixing, heating, cooling, blending, and transferring product batches.
  • Learn how to safely operate tanks, pumps, scales, hoses, and compounding equipment.
  • Double-check material names, lot numbers, weights, quantities, temperatures, and processing times.
  • Complete batch records, labels, and production documents in real time.
  • Collect product samples and watch for changes in color, odor, texture, temperature, or consistency.
  • Clean and sanitize equipment, tools, containers, and work areas.
  • Safely move and label raw materials and finished bulk products.
  • Speak up immediately when something doesn’t look right.

Junior Compounder Mix It. Measure It. Make It Matter.

Have you ever wondered how shampoo, body wash, lotion, beard oil, and other personal-care products go from a formula on paper to a finished product on the shelf?At Merit Manufacturing, that transformation starts with our Compounding team and we’re looking for a motivated Junior Compounder who is ready to learn the craft.This is not a “stand around and watch” position. You’ll work alongside experienced Compounders to weigh ingredients, prepare materials, operate equipment, document batches, and help transform raw materials into products used by people across the country.You don’t need years of compounding experience. You do need to be dependable, comfortable with basic math, willing to ask questions, and serious about getting the details right.

What You’ll Be Mixing Up
  • Gather, verify, weigh, and stage ingredients according to approved formulas.

No Experience? Don’t Count Yourself Out!

Previous experience in manufacturing, production, warehousing, food, cosmetics, pharmaceuticals, or chemical processing is helpful—but it is not required.We’re willing to train the right person who brings a strong work ethic, attention to detail, basic math skills, and a genuine willingness to learn.

As a Junior Compounder, you’ll build trust by following approved formulas, verifying every ingredient, completing accurate documentation, and speaking up when something doesn’t seem right.

The Work Is Hands‑On
  • Stand and walk for extended periods.
  • Frequently bend, reach, push, pull, and perform repetitive tasks.
  • Lift and move up to 50 pounds, with or without reasonable accommodation.
  • Work around fragrances, powders, oils, chemicals, heat, machinery, wet surfaces, and varying temperatures.
  • Wear required personal protective equipment.
  • Work scheduled hours and reasonable overtime based on production needs.
