Job summary

CyberPoint International seeks a Cloud Software Engineer 1 to support design, development, integration, testing, deployment and maintenance of cloud-based software. You will build scalable cloud-native apps, work in an Agile team, and contribute across the full software lifecycle.

The role requires US citizenship and an active TS/SCI clearance with polygraph. Candidates may have a CS degree or 2+ years of related experience and should be proficient in Java, Python, or C++, with Linux and cloud

As a Cloud Software Engineer 1 at CyberPoint, you will support the development and deployment of enterprise cloud-based solutions within a mission-driven environment. You will contribute to the design, development, integration, testing, and maintenance of scalable cloud-native applications supporting large-scale compute and data analytics platforms.

This role is an opportunity for an early-career software engineer to work within an Agile development team and gain hands‑on experience developing secure, reliable software capabilities across cloud infrastructure environments. The ideal candidate is a self‑motivated developer with strong attention to detail who can work both independently and collaboratively to meet evolving customer requirements.

What You'll Do

• Support the design, development, integration, testing, deployment, and maintenance of cloud-based software applications.
• Develop and maintain scalable cloud-native applications supporting large-scale compute and data analytics environments.
• Participate in the full Agile software development lifecycle, including requirements analysis, software development, integration, testing, deployment, and maintenance.
• Develop software using programming languages such as Java, Python, C++, or comparable languages.
• Work within Linux-based operating environments to develop, test, troubleshoot, and maintain software applications.
• Assist with troubleshooting, debugging, and resolving software and application issues.
• Support the integration of software components and technologies across cloud infrastructure environments.
• Collaborate with software engineers, cloud engineers, system administrators, and other technical teams to deliver reliable and scalable solutions.
• Contribute to software design and technical discussions while working under the guidance of experienced engineers. Support evolving customer requirements and mission needs within an Agile development environment.
• Document software development activities, technical processes, and system configurations.
• Develop technical knowledge in cloud computing, DevOps, containerization, and cloud-native software development.

This position is 100% onsite and requires an active TS/SCI+FSP Security Clearance.

Qualifications

What You’ll Need

• U.S. Citizenship.
• Active TS/SCI Security Clearance with current polygraph.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related technical discipline and 0 years of experience in software development, cloud engineering, or a related technical field; OR
• A minimum of 2 years of experience in software development, cloud engineering, or a related technical field in lieu of a degree.
• Qualifying experience must include one or more of the following:
  • Requirements analysis
  • Software development
  • Software installation
  • Software evaluation
  • Software enhancement
  • Software maintenance
  • Problem diagnosis and resolution
• Degrees in Computer Science, Mathematics, Information Systems, Engineering, or similar technical disciplines will be considered.
• Experience with one or more programming languages such as Java, Python, or C++.
• Experience working with Linux-based operating systems.

What Will Set You Apart

• Experience or familiarity with one or more of the following is highly desired:

  • AWS, Azure, GCP, or other cloud platforms.
  • Docker or other containerization technologies.
  • Kubernetes or other container orchestration platforms.
  • CI/CD tools and DevOps practices.
  • Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform or Ansible.
  • Cloud-native application development.
  • Agile software development methodologies.
  • Large-scale compute or data analytics environments.
  • Automated software testing and deployment.
  • Cloud security and compliance best practices.

Desired Certifications

• Candidates with one of the following certifications are preferred:

  • AWS Certified Developer – Associate
