Job summary

Index Analytics LLC in Baltimore seeks a Junior Full Stack Developer to build and maintain cloud-based web apps across frontend, backend, and database layers. You will translate business requirements into user-focused features, design RESTful APIs, and implement data access patterns with relational databases.

Collaborate with senior engineers, work on AWS deployments, CI/CD pipelines, and IaC updates while following security best practices.

Qualifications

• US citizen or authorized to work in the US for the past 3 of the last 5 years; able to obtain a government badge.
• Minimum of four (4) years of relevant experience with a Bachelor’s degree, or a Master’s with at least two (2) years.
• Advanced certifications can substitute for experience.
• Strong experience with SQL and Python.
• Familiarity with DevSecOps, secure development, access controls, and auditability preferred.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills in an Agile environment.
• Prior CMS/Medicaid.gov or government agency experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Support design, development, testing, and maintenance of full stack web applications across front end, back end, and database layers.
• Participate in full SDLC with mentorship from senior engineers.
• Develop and consume RESTful APIs for integration with enterprise systems.
• Collaborate with AWS deployment, CI/CD pipelines, and IaC updates.
• Read/write data to relational databases (e.g., PostgreSQL/Aurora) and integrate with AWS services (S3, Secrets Manager, SSM).
• Monitor and troubleshoot in development and production; document root cause and remediation steps.
• Contribute to IaC templates for infrastructure, application, and database changes.
• Support CI/CD pipelines (e.g., Jenkins) by updating build steps and resolving failed deployments.
• Follow CMS security, privacy, and DevSecOps requirements; complete required documentation and reviews.
• Triage operational issues using CloudWatch, Splunk; escalate as needed.
• Assist in remediating security vulnerabilities by applying patches to dependencies and infrastructure.
