Job summary

WSP is seeking an Early Career Civil Engineer for our South Jordan, UT office. The role involves supporting design, development and construction of infrastructure projects with an emphasis on safety and quality. You will gather data from sites, perform basic analyses, and help create documentation for project teams.

Ideal candidates hold a Bachelor’s in Engineering and have 0–1 years of experience, with strong writing, communication, and teamwork skills. Travel may be required as projects demand.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or closely related discipline.
• 0 to 1 years of relevant post-education experience.
• Excellent research skills with analytical mindset.
• Familiarity with design/build concepts.
• Familiarity with civil construction laws, codes, regulations, and compliance practices.
• Competent interpersonal and communication skills for engineering and non‑engineering audiences.
• Proficient self-leadership with attention to detail, multi‑tasking, and prioritization.
• Ability to work independently or as part of a team to meet objectives.
• Basic proficiency with technical writing, office automation, software, spreadsheets, and tools.
• Willingness to travel as project needs require.

Responsibilities

• Assist with collecting, compiling, and analyzing site data (surveys, GIS, plans) for project development.
• Assist with researching and inspecting site conditions to ensure code conformance.
• Provide entry-level technical assistance on design requirements and safety.
• Verify site characteristics and provide basic engineering guidance on issues.
• Generate complete, accurate documentation using drawings and field notes.
• Adhere to safety guidelines and project procedures at sites.
• Complete training on assigned tasks.
• Travel as needed for project requirements.
