Job summary

The City of San Diego is seeking a Junior Civil Engineer to support the design, plan checking, and delivery of municipal civil projects. Your work may include street and drainage design, water and sewer facility design, construction inspection, storm water quality inspection, traffic/transportation engineering, or engineering economics, with opportunities for rotation and professional growth.

Qualifications

Graduating senior in the final semester or quarter of a Civil Engineering or closely related degree program.
Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or a closely related engineering field.
Engineer-in-Training (EIT) Certificate issued from a state licensing board.
Registration as a Professional Civil, Structural, or Traffic Engineer with a state licensing board.
Notes: Proof of degree/transcripts, certificate, or registration required at time of application.
Qualifying professional civil, structural, geologic, and/or traffic engineering experience may substitute for education on a year-for-year basis.

Responsibilities

Assist with street and drainage design, structural engineering and plan checking.
Support water and sewer facility design and construction inspection.
Contribute to storm water quality inspection, traffic and transportation engineering, and engineering economics.
