Thomas & Hutton is seeking a Civil Designer I to support licensed engineers and senior designers while building a strong technical foundation. You will develop CADD and Civil 3D skills on real land-development projects from day one, under guided mentorship.

The role emphasizes drafting tasks, project coordination, and exposure to construction plans, with a structured path to obtaining your EIT/EI certification within six months. On-site schedule applies with opportunities for growth.

Formación

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or Civil Engineering Technology from an ABET/EAC‑accredited program.
• EIT/EI certification, or ability to obtain within 6 months of hire.
• Basic working knowledge of AutoCAD; exposure to Civil 3D.
• Basic written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment while following prescribed methods.
• Strong attention to detail and a genuine drive to learn from experienced mentors.

Responsabilidades

• Perform specific, well-defined portions of a broader assignment under close supervision.
• Build proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D and related engineering software through mentored, project-based work.
• Complete drafting tasks for assigned projects, coordinating with CADD and engineering technicians as needed.
• Assist in preparing construction plans, specifications, reports, studies, cost estimates, and permit applications.
• Perform basic computations and analyses, and gather or organize project data and documentation.
• Observe construction activities in the field to connect design work with real-world execution.
• Receive close, hands-on mentoring from a licensed civil engineer on all aspects of assigned work.
