Job summary

Benesch is seeking a Civil Designer to join the Civil team. You will work on transportation projects with state and local agencies, performing design calculations, modeling, and drafting coordination. Recent graduates are encouraged to apply.

You will develop designs under supervision, document calculations, and support various project elements while potentially traveling to project sites and performing field inspections as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering or related discipline required.
• Excellent communication skills (verbal & written).
• Willingness to be adaptable to office and field inspection tasks.
• The position may include field inspections and travel to project sites.

Responsibilities

• Collect and assimilate data and perform modeling, analysis and design calculations.
• Draw design details under direction of others.
• Compute quantities and relate to pay items.
• Organize calculations for design files per project standards.
• Coordinate drafting of an element.
• Perform field or site visits as needed.
• Develop knowledge of applicable codes and standards and use of CADD and MS Office.
