Job summary

Dow Jones’s Chemical Market Analytics team in Houston seeks a Research Analyst I to support market reports, data gathering and client training. You will edit and publish reports, maintain models and databases, and prepare materials for client meetings with product experts.

Ideal candidates have 0–2 years of related experience, a degree in chemical engineering, chemistry or natural science, and strong Excel/PowerPoint skills; Power BI or Python experience is a plus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in chemical engineering, chemistry or natural science or equivalent work experience.
• Advanced knowledge of PowerPoint and Excel; Power BI and/or Python knowledge preferred.

Responsibilities

• Update and maintain graphs, tables, Excel-based models and databases.
• Edit and publish chemical market reports from CMS to website.
• Conduct research and collect data from industry associations and data providers.
• Assist with maintenance of the chemical capacity database.
• Fulfill data requests and answer client questions.
• Create/update Excel graphs and tables for weekly and monthly market reports.
• Proof-read and format text for market reports.
• Create PowerPoint materials for client meetings and conferences.
• Prepare materials for product expert travel.
• Gather and maintain data from external sources for market analysis.
• Support operations to improve work processes and standardization.
