Job summary

DRMP is expanding our Construction Engineering Inspection (CEI) division into South Carolina and seeks near-entry-level inspectors to join the team. If you’re a Junior Inspector seeking the next step or an Inspector exploring new opportunities, we’d love to discuss a career with DRMP.

As a Junior Inspector, you will perform basic calculations, follow technical instructions for inspection and testing, and assist higher-level inspectors while documenting construction progress with daily work

Qualifications

• High School graduate or equivalent.
• Valid driver's license.
• Work Zone Traffic Control certification within 6 months of employment.
• SCDOT Earthwork & Base Course Technician within first 90 days of employment.
• SCDOT Asphalt Roadway Technician within first 90 days of employment.
• SCDOT Concrete Technician Level 1&2 within first 90 days of employment.
• ACI Field Testing Technician Grade 1 within first 90 days of employment.
• SCDHEC/Clemson CEPSCI Sediment Control Inspector within first six months of employment.
• Ability to work in a team environment.
• Position requires minimum of 40 hours a week with overtime potential.
• Must possess qualification for ACI Field Testing Technician Grade 1 within 90 days.

Responsibilities

• Daily documentation of contractor’s work efforts.
• Earthwork construction forms completion.
• On-site material sampling and testing.
• Assisting with project closeout documentation.
• Measure distances to verify construction layout dimensions.
• Observe construction to ensure procedures and materials meet specs.
• Obtain and prepare material samples for lab testing.
• Examine workmanship for conformance with specs.
• Collect field records for materials quantities.
• Maintain daily construction and inspection logs.
