Job summary

DRMP is growing our Construction Engineering Inspection (CEI) Division into South Carolina, and we're looking for experienced Mid-Level Inspectors to join our team in Columbia, SC. Qualifications

• Two years' experience in construction inspection, including one year in bridge/roadway inspection.
• Valid driver's license with clean driving history.
• SCDHEC/Clemson CEPSCI qualification within six months.
• Ability to work in a team environment.
• Experience with data entry and project record submittal in AASHTO-Ware Project and ProjectWise.
• Position requires 40 hours/week with potential overtime (hourly).
• Construction training qualifications outside SC are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Daily documentation of contractor’s work efforts.
• Project field book preparation and documentation.
• Earthwork construction logbook preparation and documentation.
• Material sampling and testing.
• Assist with the preparation of the Final Estimates package.
• Measure distances to verify the accuracy of construction activity/layout dimensions.
• Verify levels, alignment, and elevation of construction activity/installations.
• Observe work in progress to ensure that procedures followed and materials used conform to specifications.
• Obtain and prepare material samples for laboratory testing.
• Examine the workmanship of finished installations for conformity to standards and accepts installation.
• Record quantities of materials received or used during specified periods.
• Maintain a daily log of construction and inspection activities.
