Job summary

The ONE SOURCE Companies in Connecticut is seeking a Junior Carpenter to support commercial construction, renovations, and facility maintenance. This entry-level role works alongside skilled carpenters on office buildings, healthcare facilities, schools, and retail sites, helping teams deliver quality workmanship safely.

You will assist with framing, drywall, doors, trim, counters, and general carpentry tasks, read tape measures, operate common tools, and learn safety procedures.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• 1–3 years carpentry or construction experience preferred.
• Trade school or vocational education is a plus.
• Basic understanding of carpentry methods and construction practices.
• Ability to safely use common hand and power tools.
• Ability to read a tape measure accurately.
• Basic mathematical skills.
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
• Reliable transportation to company office or job sites.
• Ability to pass a background check and drug screening (if required).

Responsibilities

• Assist with commercial carpentry projects from start to finish.
• Install wood and metal framing.
• Hang and finish drywall.
• Install doors, frames, and hardware.
• Install baseboard, trim, molding, and finish carpentry.
• Install cabinets, shelving, countertops, and millwork.
• Repair walls, ceilings, flooring, and other building components.
• Assist with demolition and preparation of work areas.
• Read tape measures and perform basic material layouts.
• Safely operate power tools and hand tools.
• Load, unload, and organize materials and equipment.
• Maintain clean and organized job sites.
• Follow OSHA safety regulations and company safety procedures.
• Complete work orders accurately and communicate project status with supervisors.
• Perform other facility maintenance duties as assigned.
