Job summary

Manhattan University is seeking a Junior Network / Systems Engineer to design, implement, and maintain the campus network and server infrastructure. You will ensure wired and wireless connectivity, data center systems, and network-attached services remain secure, reliable, and performant across classrooms, offices, laboratories, and residence halls.

Under the Director of Network Systems, you will install and support Windows and Linux servers, manage virtualization and cloud platforms,

Qualifications

• Two years of hands-on experience supporting enterprise/campus network infrastructure and system operations.
• Knowledge of TCP/IP, OSI model, DNS, HTTP/HTTPS, DHCP, SNMP, and VLAN/WAN/LAN concepts.
• Familiarity with data center operations and virtualization platforms.

Responsibilities

• Ensure continuous availability, security, and functionality of the network across campus spaces.
• Troubleshoot wired and wireless network issues, including performance and security concerns.
• Install and maintain network equipment from vendors such as HPE Aruba, HP ProCurve, Juniper, Dell, and pfSense.
• Design and implement networks for classrooms, offices, labs, data centers, and event spaces.
• Create, test, and deploy network automation scripts and monitoring solutions.
• Maintain physical data center infrastructure, including server hardware, power, and cooling, and cable management.
• Manage Windows and Linux servers, build standard images, and support virtualization on-premises and in the cloud.
• Provide user support for network and server incidents through the ticketing system and collaborate with Information Security.

Education

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related field
