Job summary

The YMCA of Metro Atlanta is looking for a Junior Camp Counselor to support the camp lead counselor and help supervise campers, ensuring safety, engagement, and positive experiences for children served. This role focuses on guidance, education, and program execution in a dynamic camp setting.

Responsibilities include assisting with daily activities, maintaining safety protocols, and contributing to a welcoming, inclusive camp culture that reflects YMCA values.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 16 years of age.
• Experience working with children in a structured setting.
• Must have or be able to obtain First Aid/CPR; and any other certifications required for the position.
• Exemplify YMCA ideals, leadership qualities.
• Ability to handle multiple tasks, work independently, problem solve and possess effective time management skills.
• Strong customer service skills and personal commitment to service and hospitality.
• Pass a criminal background check, drug screening, and BFTS background.
• CPR and First Aid within30 daysof employment andmaintainthroughout employment.

• Assistas needed in all aspects of the YMCA and its community.
• Responsible formaintainingand reporting incident/accident paperwork.

NATURE AND SCOPE:

Under the direction of the Youth Development Director, theJuniorCamp Counselor will be primarily responsible for supporting thecamp lead counselor,assistingin execution of program activities and the supervision of campers.This role is crucialfor providingguidance, safety, leadership, education, and enjoyment for children servedatcamp.

REQUIREMENTS:
