Job summary

YMCA Bayside, Barrington, RI is seeking a Junior Camp Counselor to assist with daily activities, lead games, and supervise campers. This is a part-time, outdoor role perfect for high school students (16+) seeking their first job and leadership experience.

No prior camp experience is required, and training will be provided. You’ll work alongside experienced staff to engage campers in sports, arts & crafts, swimming, and other activities while modeling positive behavior and teamwork.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 16 years old.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work with children and peers.
• Positive attitude and willingness to learn.

Responsibilities

• Set up and lead games, activities, and daily camp programming.
• Assist Camp Counselors with supervising and engaging campers throughout the day.
• Encourage campers to participate and have fun in all activities.
• Be a positive role model for campers and represent the YMCA in a professional and friendly way.
• Support inclusion and teamwork among all campers.
• Help maintain camp spaces, equipment, and cleanliness.
• Adapt to different tasks and support the team as needed.
• Participate in pre-camp training.
