Job summary

RedGuard is seeking a CAD Drafter I to collaborate with Project Managers, Manufacturing, Sales and Estimating, Engineering, and Fabrication teams. You will produce precise two- and three-dimensional models for building projects, including blast-resistant and security-related designs, using AutoCAD, Inventor, and Revit.

Responsibilities include reviewing drawings for clashes, coordinate with engineers, and deliver accurate permit-ready details. 1+ year drafting experience preferred.

Qualifications

• 1+ years of drafting experience.
• Basic understanding of Autodesk software, including AutoCAD, Revit, and Inventor.
• Demonstrated technical knowledge of industry standards and manufacturing/construction methods.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
• Strong time management skills, with the ability to balance multiple projects and coordinate with senior-level staff.
• Effective communication skills for reporting and resolving drawing-related issues.

Responsibilities

• Creates various models for assigned projects.
• Coordinates and compiles multiple disciplines related to construction and manufacturing.
• Reviews project models for clashes and overall workability.
• Utilizes knowledge of various machines, engineering principles, and construction practices to generate complete and accurate production, shop, or permit-ready detail drawings.
• Performs primary drafting work in AutoCAD, Revit, and Inventor.
• Gathers field changes from the production/fabrication team and generate as-built drawings in accordance with RedGuard’s Document Control requirements.
• Provides support by answering questions or giving direction to complete various project-related tasks.
• Walks the fabrication and production floor to visually verify that fabrication/production methods align with the approved design and coordinate any necessary as-built changes to the project.
