Job summary

Wolverine Trading, LLC in Chicago is seeking an Entry Level C++ Software Engineer for graduates in Fall/Winter 2026 with an anticipated start in early 2027. On-site in our Chicago headquarters, you’ll work with traders, engineers, and hardware specialists at the intersection of software, hardware, and financial markets.

No prior finance experience required; there is in-house education and mentorship to learn the markets.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in CS/CE or related field, graduating Spring 2027.
• Available to begin full-time employment in summer 2027.
• Strong knowledge of C++ and object-oriented design; modern C++ (C++17+) is a plus.
• Solid understanding of data structures, algorithms, and problem-solving fundamentals.
• Interest in multi-threaded programming, performance tuning, and real-time systems.
• Curiosity about financial markets and how tech drives trading.
• Strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset.
• Passion for tackling complex technical challenges and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to design, development, and testing of C++ applications for trading platforms.
• Collaborate with traders and engineers to translate requirements into solutions.
• Assist in monitoring, profiling, and troubleshooting for reliability.
• Gain exposure to full lifecycle of trading system development from idea to production.
