Job summary

Tramec Sloan, LLC is seeking a Junior Buyer/Buyer in Muskegon, MI to support purchasing and inventory management. You will review material requirements in the MRP system, create purchase orders, and coordinate with suppliers on pricing and delivery.

The role may scale to a Buyer with independent management of routine orders and supplier communications. Ideal candidates have hands-on MRP experience, strong attention to detail, and a desire to grow within purchasing and supply chain.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience with an MRP/ERP system or related supply-chain function.
• Previous purchasing or procurement experience preferred but not required for Junior Buyer.
• Manufacturing or distribution experience preferred.
• Basic to intermediate Microsoft Excel skills.
• Ability to maintain purchasing and inventory data accurately.
• Professional written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Review material requirements and purchasing recommendations within the MRP system.
• Create and maintain purchase orders for inventory and non inventory items.
• Communicate with suppliers to confirm pricing, quantities, lead times, and delivery dates.
• Monitor open purchase orders and follow up on late deliveries and discrepancies.
• Maintain supplier, purchasing, pricing, and delivery information in ERP/MRP.
• Assist with sourcing materials, obtaining quotes, and comparing lead times.
• Support supplier-performance monitoring and purchasing improvement initiatives.
• Assist with inventory monitoring, shortages, and material availability.
