Job summary

New York Ag Connection in New York, NY is seeking a Junior Buyer to support the procurement team in sourcing food products, vendor coordination, market analysis and inventory management in a fast-paced food service environment.

The ideal candidate will assist senior buyers with purchasing, entering POs, tracking deliveries and preparing reports, while collaborating with finance, sales and warehouse teams to ensure smooth operations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management or equivalent experience.
• 2 years purchasing/sourcing or inventory experience preferred.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Word required.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced food service environment.
• Strong communication, negotiation, and time-management skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist in purchasing and sourcing food products to meet demand.
• Request quotes from vendors and negotiate pricing.
• Enter and track purchase orders.
• Track deliveries and resolve shipping/invoicing discrepancies.
• Monitor stock levels in the warehouse to prevent shortages.
• Prepare purchasing reports for management.
• Provide support to the procurement team.
• Interact with finance, sales and warehouse teams to keep operations smooth.
