Junior Building Custodian - Property Management Department

Overview

This is a provisional appointment.

Job Description: The mission of the City of Boston's Property Management Department (PMD) is to manage, maintain, repair, and provide security for the City's municipal buildings, including City Hall and Faneuil Hall. The goal is to preserve the useful life of City facilities and reduce operating costs through effective preventative maintenance.

Responsibilities include performing maintenance tasks such as cleaning, repairs, groundskeeping, operating equipment, and delivering supplies. Must be available to work any shift, including emergencies, as directed by the Superintendent.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Ability to take direction and deal effectively with the public.
  • Strong judgment and attention to detail.
  • Current MA Driver's License required; Hoisting License preferred and must be obtained within 6 months if not held.
Additional Requirements
  • C.O.R.I. check required.
  • Boston residency required.
