Job summary
Southland Industries is seeking a detail-oriented shop drawing and BIM support specialist to help coordinate MEP systems on construction projects in Texas. You will assist with shop drawings, BIM modeling, document control, and cross-team collaboration to improve accuracy and efficiency.

Qualifications
- High School or GED with 0–2 years detailing experience or in a trade apprenticeship.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to write, edit and proofread content.
- Ability to read and interpret basic construction documents.
- Knowledge of HVAC, Plumbing, Piping, Sheet Metal trades and field installation methods.
- Attention to detail.
- Familiar with BIM/CAD software: Navisworks, Revit, AutoCAD.
Responsibilities
- Assist with receiving, logging, expediting, and distributing shop drawings and project docs.
- Create basic shop drawings.
- Maintain document protocols for easy retrieval.
- Support clash detection to reduce time/costs.
- Coordinate MEP and provide basic 3D BIM modeling.
- Attend meetings and collaborate with design and build teams.
- Help minimize design-flaw-related construction errors.
