Job summary

Tria Federal is seeking a Junior BI Engineer to support data analysis, reporting, and dashboard development using Python, SQL, and Tableau. The role emphasizes turning raw data into actionable insights for federal missions and will require a security clearance and US residency.

The ideal candidate has 1+ year of experience, a strong foundation in Python/Pandas/NumPy, SQL, and Tableau, and a willingness to learn and collaborate in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• U.S. Federal Position of Trust clearance required.
• Must reside in and be able to perform work in the United States.
• Must have lived in the United States for 3 of the last 5 years.
• Preferred candidate will travel to Baltimore office (Woodlawn MD) once a month.
• Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Analytics, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• At least one year of experience.
• Good working knowledge of Python, including Pandas and NumPy.
• Strong foundational knowledge of SQL, including joins, subqueries, aggregations, CTEs, and window functions.
• Hands-on knowledge of Tableau for dashboards, visualizations, reports.
• Understanding of relational databases, data modeling, and data quality principles.
• Strong analytical thinking, problem-solving, and attention to detail.
• Good communication skills and ability to work collaboratively.
• Willingness to learn new technologies.

Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain, and enhance interactive dashboards and reports using Tableau.
• Write, optimize, and troubleshoot SQL queries to extract, transform, and analyze data from relational databases.
• Use Python for data cleaning, manipulation, automation, and exploratory data analysis.
• Collaborate with business stakeholders and cross-functional teams to understand reporting requirements and deliver actionable insights.
• Assist in developing and maintaining ETL/ELT processes and data pipelines.
• Perform data validation, quality checks, and reconciliation to ensure accuracy and consistency.
• Identify trends, patterns, and opportunities through data analysis and visualization.
• Document data processes, business logic, SQL queries, and reporting solutions.
• Explore opportunities to improve analytics workflows through automation and AI-assisted tools.
