Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking a security-cleared operations analyst to monitor SDA tools and space surveillance during 24/7 operations. You will characterize events, support COA development, and document actions for senior decision-makers.

The role requires TS/SCI clearance with polygraph, plus experience in operational monitoring and mission systems. Relevant SDA/astrodynamics exposure is preferred, with readiness training expected.

Qualifications

  • Master's degree or Bachelor’s with relevant experience, or 4+ years with demonstrated expertise.
  • Active TS/SCI clearance with adjudicated polygraph.
  • Experience using monitoring/analytics or mission systems for time-sensitive reporting.
  • Experience supporting 24/7 operations and following documented procedures.
  • 1+ years with SDA/astrodynamics systems (e.g., STK, ASW, ATLAS) preferred.
  • Experience with Intelligence Community or joint mission partners in space operations preferred.
  • Applied understanding of orbital mechanics and space surveillance preferred.

  • Execute procedures with supervision; document actions and rationale.
  • Assist testing and integration of new software as an end user; submit issues.
  • Support planning and readiness through training and certification events.

Job description

Responsibilities
  • Monitor SDA tools and threat assessments during 24/7 operations; identify events of interest and follow approved checklists.
  • Maintain RSO custody and update operational databases; validate data against multiple approved sources.
  • Produce routine reports and briefings and provide ad hoc updates for ongoing events; coordinate content review as required.
  • Conduct initial event characterization (timeline, pattern-of-life observations, confidence factors) and recommend next steps for senior decision.
  • Support course of action (COA) development by compiling constraints, impacts, and response options for senior operators.
  • Execute procedures in response to checklist entry criteria with supervision; document actions, outcomes, and rationale.
  • Support testing and integration of developing software capabilities as an operational end user; submit trouble reports and improvement recommendations.
  • Support real-world and exercise-driven planning efforts; maintain readiness through recurring training and certification events.
Requirements
  • Master’s degree and 1 year of relevant experience with demonstrated expertise OR Bachelor’s degree and 2 years of relevant experience with demonstrated expertise OR no degree and 4 years of relevant experience with demonstrated expertise.
  • Active Top Secret / Sensitive Compartmented Information (TS/SCI) clearance with adjudicated polygraph.
  • Experience using operational monitoring, analytics, or mission systems to track events and produce time-sensitive reporting.
  • Experience supporting 24/7 operations (watch floor, operations center, or comparable environment) and following documented procedures.
  • 1+ years of experience with STK or other SDA/astrodynamics systems (e.g., ASW, ATLAS, SPADOC, or developing I&W tools) preferred.
  • Experience working with Intelligence Community organizations or joint mission partners supporting space operations preferred.
  • Applied understanding of orbital mechanics, space surveillance, and counterspace threat concepts preferred.
