Job summary

Vertiv in Anderson, SC seeks a motivated Junior Systems Engineer to join our software department focused on PLC configuration, testing and deployment of control and power monitoring systems. You will work with a cross-functional team to ensure high performance and reliability across industries.

The ideal candidate has a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field, basic PLC programming knowledge, familiarity with SCADA and HMI, and exposure to Modbus, Ethernet/IP or Profibus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• Basic understanding of PLC programming and industrial control systems.
• Familiarity with SCADA, HMI design, and protocols such as Modbus, Ethernet/IP, or Profibus.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the design, configuration, and testing of PLC and SCADA (Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition) systems.
• Develop and validate software for control and power monitoring systems using industry-standard tools.
• Perform system integration testing to ensure compatibility with switchgear products.
• Provide technical support during the installation and commissioning phases of projects.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to PLC programming, communication protocols, and control systems.
• Assist with preparation of technical documentation, including system configuration details, test plans, and user manuals.
• Maintain accurate records of system modifications and testing procedures.
• Work closely with cross-functional teams, including hardware engineers, project managers, and production teams, to ensure seamless project delivery.
• Liaise with customers to gather requirements and provide technical insights.
• Stay updated on emerging technologies and industry trends in automation and control systems.
• Identify opportunities to improve processes and optimize system performance.
