Job summary

Synectics Inc. is seeking a junior attorney to represent clients in criminal defense, attend court appearances, and assist with case strategy and research.

You will conduct client consultations, review police reports, and draft motions and briefs, while coordinating with senior attorneys and staff to manage deadlines. This in-person role requires strong legal research and writing skills, fluency in Spanish, and a commitment to zealous advocacy for clients.

Qualifications

  • Recent law school graduates are encouraged to apply.
  • 0-1 years of criminal defense or criminal law experience is preferred but not required.
  • Active Texas State Bar license and in good standing required.
  • Strong interest in criminal defense and litigation.
  • Strong legal research, writing, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple cases, deadlines, and priorities.
  • Trial, moot court, law review, legal clinic, or internship experience is a plus.
  • Spanish fluency strongly required.
  • Must be comfortable working in person.

  • Communicate with prosecutors, courts, opposing counsel, and other parties as needed.
  • Participate in community outreach, legal education, and other firm initiatives.
  • Provide compassionate, client-focused, and zealous representation.
