Junior Assistant Facility Security Officer (SEC-2025-23014):

Bowhead seeks a detail-oriented Junior Assistant Facility Security Officer to join our team. This role supports the implementation and oversight of our security program in accordance with 32 CFR Part 117 The National Industrial Security Program Operating Manual (The NISPOM Rule), ICDs, and other federal regulations.

Responsibilities

The Junior Assistant Facility Security Officer will be proactive, organized, and capable of managing sensitive information in a secure and compliant manner.

Job duties to include but not limited to:

• Assist the Facility Security Officer in maintaining compliance with NISPOM, DoD directives, and other government security regulations.
• Process and manage personnel security clearances (e-APP, DISS, NISS).
• Maintain security records and prepare reports for audits, inspections, and internal reviews.
• Conduct security briefings, debriefings, and training sessions for staff.
• Assist in developing and enforcing physical and information security procedures.
• Support investigations of security violations and help implement corrective actions.
• Maintain visitor control procedures, badges, and access control systems.
• Work closely with government customers and security representatives to resolve issues and support classified contracts.
  
  
  

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent
• One or more (1+) years experience with cleared programs and an understanding of government and government contracting security programs and processes
• CDSE STEPP FSO Possessing and or Non-Possessing Courses Competed is a plus.
• Knowledge of 32 CFR Part 117 highly desired
• Intermediate to advanced level skills in Microsoft Office software suite - Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint
• Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of employees and outside contacts
• Strong interpersonal skills and good judgment with the ability to work alone or as part of a team
  
  
  

Physical Demands:

• Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds
• Must be able to stand and walk for prolonged amounts of time
• Must be able to twist, bend and squat periodically
  
  
  

SECURITY CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS: Must have previously or currently hold a security clearance at the Top Secret level. US Citizenship is a requirement for Top Secret clearance at this location.
