Position Description

The He lab, a newly established research group in the Department of Pathology at UCSF, is seeking a highly motivated individual to join as a Junior, Assistant, Associate, or Full Specialist. Our work involves building cell atlases of developing human tissues, revealing new cell states and transition states, and understanding cell state regulation through transcription factors and cis-regulatory elements using perturbations, organoids, and single-cell multi-omics.

Responsibilities
  • Design, conduct, and analyze experiments independently and collaboratively.
  • Serve as lab manager, overseeing supplies and maintenance.
  • Possess expertise in organoid or cell culture and second-generation sequencing experiments.
Qualifications

Minimum requirements:

  • Junior Specialist: BA/BS in Biological Sciences or related field, or at least four years of research experience with hands-on research skills.
  • Assistant Specialist: Master’s degree or a BA/BS with 3+ years research experience.
  • Associate Specialist: Master’s degree or 5-10 years relevant experience with independent research record.
  • Full Specialist: Terminal degree or 10+ years relevant experience.

Candidates must meet qualifications at hire and include relevant details in CV/cover letter.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Master’s degree for Assistant Specialist; PhD for Associate and Full Specialists.
  • Experience in genetic perturbations.
